Be There for Humanity
To be found in every YSIK’s activities, Be There for Humanity is the soul of the organization. This spirit becomes the baseline of every service and help given to its partners. As the consequences, the partner should also maintain the humanity values in their programs. The expression of BE THERE for HUMANITY is also used to persuade everybody who read the tagline to have the same soul.
BE THERE can be read as care, presence, willingness and the existence, whereas for HUMANITY can be read as a reflection of values, spirit, goals, concern, and soul of YSIK and its partners.
The grand meaning of the tagline is that we exist because of the spirit of humanity, and we are there for the humanity itself.

Fundraising Study Forum

Opinion sharing organized by Indonesian Philanthropy Association (PFI) on April 2008 resulted on an agreement to establish Fundraising Study Forum. This forum was expected to be an active regular class with the main topic of how to organize fundraising and appropriate program.  It was planned that this forum could be  implemented every month and would be hosted  by any members in turns.
This was initiated by some NGO’s, grant-making organization, philanthropy research  and the Moslem charity institutions who along this time faced difficulties in finding competent and professional fundraising staff. ‘We still depend much on the fundraising class from America, Australia, and the Europe. It is hoped that this study forum will be an advantage for all of the participants considering that the training of fundraising had only been done by the IMZ and passed only limited persons,’ said Arifin Purwakanta form Dompet Duafa (lit. Purse for the Poor)
Compared to the Philippine, Indonesia has rather been lagged behind in the management of public fund raising. The charity opportunity was good. It could be seen from the list of donation which had been published in the mass media when the disaster happened here. Unfortunately the fund has not been well managed and it has not been applied for proper programs. Laksmi C. Lestari of PFI hoped  that the study forum could become the bridge between the grant-making organization and the NGOs as the reliable implementers.
